Not that long ago, getting into politics was the last thing on my mind. However, after recently meeting with some community leaders, that all changed.

As a candidate for mayor, I am dedicated to serving the community and bringing positive change.
PLATFORM ISSUES
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY
In government, leaders often forget that being fiscally responsible for taxpayers and the city is a primary responsibility of the council. The power should be returned to the people. If the majority of taxpayers want their money spent on certain items in a fiscally responsible manner, efforts should be made to make it happen.
We do have a road issue that will cost taxpayers 12.75% beginning in 2025 and beyond. We need safe roads and bridges, so this is a real tax. I will do my best working with City Council and City Hall to have a plan for reduction of taxes in the future and not additional increases.
SAFETY
As Mayor, I will be committed to collaborating with the Anoka County Sheriff and deputies to ensure the safety of our community. I strongly believe in showing respect to law enforcement officials who have earned it, which is not always the case in some town governments. I will use the powers of the Office of Mayor to make sure they understand their significance and value to Andover and its residents.

Our Firefighters and First Responders continue to create a safe city for all Andover citizens. We will work with them to ensure that they are appreciated with the work they do, and we want to do all we can to protect them too.

ANDOVER COMMUNITY CENTER
The Andover Community Center provides numerous opportunities for its citizens, but it's uncertain if everyone is aware of them. The second addition of the center was constructed without a referendum from the residents. My opponent was on city council at the time and voted in favor of bypassing the will of the people along with the mayor Julie Trude and 2 other council members. The only one against that was our current Mayor Sheri Bukkila. It was done without regard for what the residents of Andover wanted. This is not about whether a person likes hockey or not, it is about ignoring the input from the citizens. As Mayor, I won't tolerate decisions of this magnitude made by a few council members.
It's time to focus on making it a positive attraction. The center offers unlimited possibilities with its hockey rinks, gyms, and meeting rooms. Many things can be done to lift it up and I plan to work on those. There are many possibilities inside and out of the center.
ENVIRONMENT
Protecting our environment is crucial for the health and prosperity of our city. I will work with the council and city leaders to be sure Andover is always trying to be the best city in Minnesota.
DIVERSITY
As our city grows and becomes more diverse, I am committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for law-abiding citizens.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
As someone with a business background, I aim to collaborate with local businesses to ensure they feel valued in our city. Despite having the option to start their business elsewhere, they have chosen Andover to flourish and expand. Let's support them in their endeavors. Additionally, I will explore economic prospects to entice new businesses to our city.
